This book won my heart early on and fully delivered on my expectations. It has the diverse queer rep we need, and particularly the rep young readers are starving for. This is a book that sets out with this goal: to make everyone who doesn't fit neatly into the expected box of what your label should look like feel seen. Those elements of diverse queer rep coupled with a nuanced representation of religious trauma and neurodivergence, made this book not only healing for my mid-20s self, but made me desperately grateful it exists for teens today, because wow could teenage me have used a book like this. A stunning debut, not without faults but phenomenal in spite of them. I can't wait to see what this author comes out with next; I'll definitely be keeping my eye on him.

Note: This book contains many potential triggers, but in my opinion all triggering topics are handled with grace. Please do not read them this book if you cannot handle these themes, but if you are worried about if they're handled well vs poorly, I think they are well handled and the book is healing because of that.
