Well I finished this book and angrily announced to my partner, "this author just made me have to buy the next book".
I guessed the surprise twist ending partway through but the journey to get there just kept me invested. Couldn't put it down.

Although I totally enjoyed it and flew through it because it was amazing I have to take a star because I guessed the "plot twist" the first time a certain character was mentioned. And if I am able to guess something like that it must be pretty dang obvious because I'm usually clueless and don't pick up in hints that fast. But I can't wait to read Scarlet.

It's rare to find books that immediately hook you in, keep you wanting more without revealing too much or little information. It's a book that is not predictable, but has enough foreshadowing to make coming up with theories fun. The characters are lovable (or unlovable ;), the plot intriguing (and not afraid to be intense), and the romance heart fluttering but not cheesy! Onto the next book.
I really enjoyed this read, and I'm excited to see where the series goes. There was early foreshadowing that kind of gave away the big ending BUT reading/going through the experience with Cinder and others still left room for an emotional roller coaster of an ending.
I'm re-reading this after 10 years.
