I would have given this four stars if the entire book had been like the last 50 pages. Definitely a quick read and good for when you're traveling. I recommend it but not as highly as James Rollins' other books. Still, all in all a very good book and ill be interested to read the next one in this series.

I didn't hate this book but it was nowhere near as good as his Sigma Force novel I read awhile ago. The pacing seemed awkward to me you could definitely tell that this book is written by two people versus one. Will I read the next one? Probably and that reason is why I'm giving this book as many stars as I'm giving it and that reason is Rasputin. He was by far the best character in this book and I'm hoping he has a bigger part in the next one.

What an awesome Read ! This was fantastic story with a great plot and great characters. Lots of action and adventure. Reminds me of Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Highly recommend it.

I'mm usually not into vampire fiction, but this was far from Twilight. I like James Rollins (obviously) and his story telling ability. The plot is a simple chase, but has some interesting characters.

Absolutely amazing!!! I loved every second of this read. It isn't very ofter that a book will make me drop all of my other hobbies and duties and just read until I was done. Stayed up way too late, housework not done... It is the perfect storm of fantastic writing and subject matter that gently weaves a fabric of various mythologies together. I can't wait for the next one...

Awesome start to a new series, can't wait to see what happens next.

Every so often you want to read something thats entertaining, not overly cerebral, and well, "fluffy," although that might be redundant with "not overly cerebral." Well, I did, it so now back to something more challenging.

So Rollins has, albeit rather late, jumped on the bandwagon of vampirism. Disappointing ... I am getting a bit tired of vampires and church conspiracies ... I would give the book 2.5 stars if possible.

I didn't understand what the stakes were in this book. Why is the MacGuffin that they are after important? What will happen if the bad guys get it? I also found the characters to be very flat. And that made it very boring reading.
