I was really torn with this one as there were parts I liked about it ie Quinns magic, her dream walking and what might happen to her and I am curious about Lazarus, but also I struggled with the story a bit and the characters I flip flopped between liking them and them irritating me. I am interested in seeing where things go so will read book 2 to see if things pull together more.

I liked the setting, the "Magi" was a bit cliché but could works, my main problem was with Quinn personality ? Supposedly she had over 17 masters and every time made them have a such bad time that she was sold again, but then here she's very submissive with Lazarus, yes they have a pact but still, I expected more.
