Injustice. Coming into your own. Fear. Growth. Addiction. Grief. Womanhood. Family.

This story encompassed so many emotions and themes. I found it to be well-written and emotional.

I tore through this book. The darkness and trauma is balanced out with humor and hope, and the main character/narrator speaks with such singular clarity and voice the entire time. Not at all what I was expecting, but everything I could have hoped for. This book also absolutely filled a gap in my reading for modern indigenous stories, and I look forward to seeking out more of those voices in the next year.

Definitely reads Young Adult. Finished on audiobook because I attempted to read twice and couldn't get engaged in it. Didn't connect much with the characters though appreciated the cultural aspect

INTENSE. I liked it, but I do think some of the twists/resolutions were predictable. MC is willful, sometimes to her own detriment.

This was a great book and being able to resonate as a Native woman brings comfort. There were so many unexpected twists and turns, esp after Part II. I love how it ended and can’t wait to read Warrior Girl Unearthed

When someone dies, everything about them becomes past tense. Except for the grief. Grief stays in the present. It’s even worse when you’re angry at the person. Not just for dying. But for how.

The story that was within this book was beautiful, easy to follow, and beyond important. Boulley discussed Native American culture in a must read way, describing their culture to where I truly felt like I was there witnessing everything. The mystery and the romance made this very enjoyable but also a good tense at times. Please read the trigger warnings as always. Highly recommend this one! ❤️🪶
