I still like the characters, but the plots are getting repetitive.

Following along in the Sookie Stackhouse novels I often found I couldn't stop reading despite my best efforts. This novel took me a long time to get through it from start to finish. It read like a terrible rejected episode of True Blood. All over the place, tired, and overdone. Maybe it's time to call it quits, while the series isn't doing so badly. It is definitely at this point when I would break the cuviel dor to protect Sookie Stackhouse from more trite novels... out of love, of course.

Eh. This series is going all Evanovich- may be more of a habit than a great reading experience. It's not that it's bad, really. It's just that once you go this far in a series, there are really great reads you can't help comparing it to. This wasn't the best we've seen of Bon Temps- or the worst.

Overall, not my favorite in the series, but it was a very good book so it belongs on my favorites shelf. (I'm a sucker for the ridiculous things Sookie says/thinks)

"These are so bad" I think to myself as I continue to read every one of them

Bleck...What a disappointment. I went into this one with low expectations because of the last one and I'm glad I did.

"True Blood killed this series." So true!! This book and the one before it were very disappointing. I feel as if she's writing things for episodes of True Blood. Nothing really happens as far as developing the series. It was just the same old story with someone after Sookie. There wasn't even any Eric really. I'm very disappointed, especially when you consider how long I waited for this book.
