To a certain extent, all Sookie books are good Sookie books. That said, some Sookie books are much better than others. Sadly, Dead Reckoning falls into the "good but not great" category. Dead Reckoning feels like yet another bridge book in the series. Yes, by book's end, two or three new directions have opened up, and it will be interesting to see the fallout in the next installment. However, there was no great overarching plotline, no intensity, and practically no momentum. Stuff happens, Sookie has feelings about what happened, then more stuff happens, and then Sookie ponders her feelings again. Not that this wasn't fun to read, but it certainly wasn't much more than fluffy candy. Still, anyone who has come this far in the series will want to read Dead Reckoning, and I know I'll still be ready for more a year from now when the next book appears.

Didn't need to be informed so many times that Jason and Dermot looked alike. I got it the first time!

High marks. Just very good. Aannnd a cliffhanger.
This book ended a lot better then the previous book. I also found that the first 2 chapters weren't getting the readers up to speed on the whole previous 10 books. I won't spoil it but I was surprised at the turn towards the end but see the light at the end of the tunnel.
