This wasn't my favorite of the series, but I still really enjoyed it. I read the Lily Bard series earlier this year so I loved that Lily and Jack showed up in this book. I've been really team Eric since book four but one of my favorite scenes in the book was when Sookie hid in the hidey-hole with Bill.

I feel like Harris really set it up for an Eric/Sookie breakup to come, which makes me a little sad. I love Eric.

Sookie is always loads of fun and games. The books are easy to read. I'm still not fond of the relationship with Eric. Eric isn't good. and he's not good bad, if you know what I mean. I want more of Sookie's fairy roots. I wanna see more of Claude and Dermot. What are they up to? Sookie's relationship with Hadley's son Hunter is sweet too. I'm not tired of Sookie and crew yet, but I do want her to get rid of Eric. Bring on a new man!

Sookie has only had a few weeks to recover from the events of the previous book before she finds herself in yet another round of action-packed days. We see more of her continued struggle to balance her experiences in the supernatural realm with regular life. New challenges are introduced, a few old story lines are wrapped, and some new information is revealed!

For fluff, it's got some really dark scenes. It doesn't have enough of a plot to be anything more than fluff, though. It absolutely does NOT stand alone, so don't consider reading this book unless you've read all that went before it - you'll be hopelessly lost.

Sookie has changed so much over the course of this series that she is having trouble recognizing herself, and is troubled over it, with good reason. Having a main character change is good, and I'll say that some of that change is growth, but I can't say it's all growth, or all to the good. (Can any of us say that, though, about the changes we go through in our lives?)

No continuity but still enjoyable. Nothing gets solved in this book. A mysterious fairy object pops up that gives its owner one wish (it doesn't get used for this book, maybe the next one.) The Fangtasia vamps to manage to kill off Victor, but then Sookie is so disgusted by Eric's blood lust she has Bill take her home afterwards.
C+

I feel this installment actually moved the story forward, and it definitely left me wondering! The past one or two books I found a bit dull; action-packed, but the relationships felt stale. This book reignited my interest in the series.

Ooh Sookie. These books have always just been a quick, easy, and entertaining read. But as the series goes on, the books are definitely seeming to lose a bit of their fun. And after reading the other reviews, it seems I'm not alone in this thought. I'm not sure if it's the True Blood, the fact that this is the 11th in the series, or the fact that Ms. Harris is now quite a bit more famous than she was when she first wrote these books.

The characters are still pretty fun, but there was a serious lack of plot in this book, and a slight change in character for most of the character. Most of the books have some big moment in the plot that the story revolves around - in this book, it was like a three page moment. Disappointing. It's still an entertaining book (and a quick read at about 2 days), but I'm hoping the next one has an actual plot.

One of the previous reviewers mentioned she had read the first book again and noticed a huge difference btwn the writing style..I'm thinking Ms. Harris should do the same..and try to take the books back to where they were.

Hmm.. It was okay.. seems like this one and the last were just fillers.

Lot's of unanswered questions!

No continuity in this book, the author has clearly forgotten things that she has written previously and is now rewriting past events to make storylines make sense in her current book. Characters still aren't acting (or reacting) like themselves - Eric essentially tricked Sookie into marrying him in the last book and now the breaking of the blood bond in this book should have been a huge deal to Sookie! I thought Eric didn't know that Sookie was part fairy until much later in the series and Harris makes it seem like Eric knew much sooner than he really did. Also, it is clear that Harris is setting up Sam as Sookie's Happily Ever After...
