When Merlotte's Bar is set ablaze, Sookie and Sam are left wondering who committed the offense. Was it an anti-shifter or something more sinister? Meanwhile, Eric and Pam are caught up in a plot to kill their new master. Of course Sookie is trapped in the middle of everything. What could go wrong? This was another delightful chapter in the Sookie Stackhouse saga, and I really enjoyed it. I especially liked the scene where Sookie had to run to Bill's house. While the stakes were high, it was written quite humorously.

Feels a bit like losing steam towards the end of the series--I just finished it and can barely remember what happened. Revenge just isn't a very exciting plot.

Slower-placed than prior books.

Snoozeville, this series has really gone downhill for me. Not liking where Eric is heading and not liking Bill trying to redeem himself. It was better than the last book though.

This book was such a waste of my time, totally not worth the $14.99 for the nookbook. It's redundant stupid didn't go anywhere. It once again ends with you not knowing what Sookie is going to do or who she's going to be with. A lot is implied but not explained. I doubt I'll jump to read the next one like I did for this book and the one before it. If you're insisting on reading it, use a library. Don't waste your $$$.

I like that sookie becomes more active in her life and controls the outcomes instead of vamp. business controlling her.

This book was a little repetitive but I’m willing to see how the next one goes.
adventurous dark mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

...more like 2.5 stars. I'm getting less interested in the series as it goes on. This installment was not even a mystery, more of a plot to kill and the inevitable disposal of a crazy murderous stalker. Pretty gory to boot.

The writing is not as good as the beginning of the series, but, I am in love with characters and will see them through to the end.
