Good fun although Bridget Jones is such a mess that it made me literally review my own New Year’s resolutions because I became worried about becoming as dysfunctional as her. Also I watched the movie directly after finishing & would say that I like it better (there are some plot points in the book that are maybe a bit over the top).

"It seems wrong and unfair that Christmas, with its stressful and unmanageable financial and emotional challenges, should first be forced upon one wholly against one’s will, then rudely snatched away just when one is starting to get into it. Was really beginning to enjoy the feeling that normal service was suspended and it was OK to lie in bed as long as you want, put anything you fancy into your mouth, and drink alcohol whenever it should chance to pass your way, even in the mornings. Now suddenly we are all supposed to snap into self-discipline like lean teenage greyhounds."

I had fun, I laughed out loud (at the moments that to me, who has ADHD, read like ADHD moments, such as forgetfulness, impulsiveness and Bridget's internal and external quick changes in topics to herself and with her friends, not really at the actual relationship related things), ignored the weight related topics (because I remember how it was in the late 90s, even as a kid) and felt like it was a nice change of pace from all the darker toned books I've finished recently (ignoring the fact I chose those books lol).
