Immediately caught interest with the two POVs in different timelines. I was invested in Sydney’s dating journey as well as Tom’s journey in restraining his murderous thoughts. Halfway through I was getting bored with Sydney’s quick assumptions and how frequently she would nose dive into the wrong conclusions. Plot twist in the end saved the rating but without it, it might’ve flopped. Decent quick read overall

I’m a slow reader & I completed this within 3 days - that’s a record for me!

I thought I called it at the beginning, I thought that was it going to be a drag out but how wrong was I, the twists and turns had my jaw dropped.

Freida, you’ve done it again! Bravo

Did not finish, didn’t get far. Couldnt get into it and characters made me cringe

This is the fourth book I’ve read by Freida McFadden and I’m getting a little better at seeing patterns. There is always one or two suspects that seem extremely obvious but aren’t the killers. In this case it was Tom and Slug who I thought was Randy but well I was wrong. Daisy being Gretchen was a plottwist I didn’t see coming although it’s something a more alert reader could have gotten before. Daisy is obviously a nickname for Gretchen.
I think Sydney is a bit stupid, which was frustrating, honestly. Like why the hell don’t you go to the police and tell them everything that’s concerning. I think it was weird that she decided to start dating when Bonnie’s murderer was still not found because „it hit me that in exactly six months I was going to be thirty-five years old.“ okay??? And then she ignored all the signs that Tom was Bonnie’s hot doctor boyfriend. If she would’ve asked more questions and not just accepted his excuses, the book could’ve been like a 100 pages shorter.
I also thought the end was weird/hilarious too. Like idk, but Tom running off with daisy after 20 years of her murdering all the girls he’s been with seems a little late. Why didn’t he decide earlier that he wanted to be with her??
