The book is a real life story and tbh I felt bad for firdaus in the very start but then I didn't felt a bit of pity on firdaus at all. I am growing and I am understanding it slowly , male dominance in society and isadly it has more deep roots in indian society. the book is just so painful and may god help and bless soul of women like firdaus!!

There’s no review I can write that would encapsulate everything that Firdaus’ story is. She deserved so much more out of life. As a woman her story left me feeling vindicated in my experience and filled me with sororal grief.
So so thought provoking. This book is the story of Firdaus, and Egyptian woman who had all the men in her life so her wrong and suffered the consequences from it. A deeply profound book that I will think about for a long time to come.
