An amazingly quick read considering it's over 500 pages. I'm happy to say that Plague continued with the action and suspense that was in Lies without the feelings of "can we please move on from this character/subplot" that I had while reading Hunger. I must admit that while I am disappointed that my favorite character won't be returning, the new character (and I believe there was only one?) that was introduced will keep things interesting. Here's to hoping one of my other favorite characters, Justin, will also play a role in the upcoming books. He had a small role in Lies, but I really enjoyed it and was sad that he wasn't featured in Plague. Keep up the good work, Michael Grant. I really have no idea what you'll come up with next--here's to a year of eager anticipation.
I think I might have said that the last book in this series was the darkest book, but I would have been wrong. This book is very dark. So much so that in the middle of this book, I started to wonder how it could possibly resolve...if this was the end of the series, except I knew there were two more books. The kids in this story have dealt with so much and every time it seems like they are getting ahead, something comes around that makes their lives impossible. The story is compelling, but so very dark that I find myself looking for some light somewhere and there isn't any to be found. I don't know where this story is going, but I find myself wanting to read the next book because I keep hoping for a bright spot.
This book was an improvement on the last, and still more gruesome. Enjoying the series.
THE CHARACTERS: Even though I hate Sam and Astrid fighting, but I guess they need time to be apart and find themselves or some other stuff like that. A lot of unknown characters die in this book. Orc seems to want to change, at least I hope. Sanjit and Lana seem to be getting along better. Virtue and Dahra might possibly become a couple. I'm sorry to say, but I'm not really sure that I care that Little Pete died. Astrid seems a little whiny about the fact she thought about killing him. In the FAYZ, rules kinda don't apply. She needs to stop whining.
THE PLOT: Edilio make the worst possible thing happen: He brought Caine back. Cain, though, kind of seems to maybe care. I think he just wants to have people to rule. The end is a freaking cliffhanger. I mean, Diana's pregnant! On the other hand, it is action-packed and quite scary. It also makes me want to puke, sometimes. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Bad, I think.
LIKES AND DISLIKES: Let's see. I liked Toto. It amuses me how he always gives his input on what is true and what's false. I hate that Sam and Astrid are fighting throughout the whole entire stinking book. I also strongly dislike reading from Drake/Brittney's perspective. I like that Caine came to the rescue with the bugs, even though he had the perfect FAYZ life.
FANGIRLING/ OTHER STUFF: Toto is one of my favorite characters!!! I really want Brianna and Dekka to be together. I know Brianna's only eleven; A girl can hope, right? I don't know why but I love the fact that there is at least one gay person in this book. I really can't wait for Draake/Brittney to die, PERMANENTLY.

Weakest of the series so far but still entertaining. I was listening to the audiobook and the narration was hard to listen to at times. He gave a lot of the characters lisps and southern accents for no apparent reason. He also said "said" or "asked" with what sounded like a super passive aggressive tone. I cringed every time.
Amazingggggggggg!!!!!!! I need the next one right now!!
I've been zooming through these books, but this one really picked up the pace. It was a case of reading well into the night because I just couldn't put it down!
the series that wont stop giving. On book 4 its impossible to say more without spoilers.
