Update for the new Revision (original review below)
This book was simply 😍 Ah-Mah-Zing😍 ! I thought the first time I read this book I was in love, well lust, okay I was obsessed with Fox and all the guys of Hel's Ink, but with DJ Krimmer's new Author's Vision Edition - think Director's Cut of the book world - I not only got to revisit the start of this great series but know more about Fox the original Lumber Snack Daddy and Janie the Queen of Banter and Sarcasm! The new content is so much of everything that I loved in the first book and the characters are literally unleashed on the page to be their truest, funniest, and most emotionally tire selves! This means I laughed harder, felt deeper, and in turns gasped and sighed louder than before, because the banter, humour and passion was Off The Charts 💖 With this extra space Krimmer had the time to build stronger connection and create the Found Family that is the heart of this series and make me fall in more in love with the romance between Poppa Fox and Momma Janie.
If you haven't read this, why are you waiting?
If you read this already, then you will definitely want to read this again because it does feel like a new book! Honestly, I was sucked in to this, okay i'll admit its my fourth time reading Fox's book 🤓, like it was my first! And Next up is my baby Atlas!!! ::sighhh:: 😏

💕Dual POV
This book will transport you into Hel’s Ink with its well designed, three dimensional world that will have you laughing one moment and breaking your heart the next.
I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so for me I just want to say that, although for Janie this is the return to her ‘home’ it is a bitter return because this is a world she doesn't want to face. After being absent in her father’s life for so long, she returns for his funeral and to sell the shop to Fox, her father’s protege and best friend, and then quickly leave and return to her Influencer Life. However, after overhearing how Fox talks about her, she decides to be partners with him in the shop after her Influencer boyfriend deals her a dirty hand. But, it is only a matter of time before the simmering tension that has existed since Fox was her first crush boils over despite the 10 year age gap. Yet, there is more to both Janie and Fox’s backstories than meets the eye which fuels the push and pull between frustration and passion between them.
This book is amazing, but I must warn you to take the trigger warnings to heart. This book will give some of the best smiles at the banter between all the characters; the best sighs as you watch two people finally fall in love and learn they are loveable; and turn up your air conditioner because when these characters get together it is HOT! But, all this comes with a price; and you will cry with this book because the lives the characters lead are real and often represent aspects of life you wish were not real. There is chronic illness, bullying, abuse, discussion of drugs and addictions, death of family (off the page), and psychological trauma. However, Krimmer handles all of these with care and compassion, all the while showcasing how families can be found and bonded around their pasts and ultimately be stronger because of the support and love they find together.

I liked this book a lot. I thought it was well written and there were definitely plot points and tropes that worked for me. There were also a few things that I felt didn’t work as well, but they’re just my personal opinion. What didn’t work for me was that while this story did eventually focus on the romance aspect, I felt like it was put on the back burner for most of the story and that the “enemies” portion of the “enemies to lovers” trope was the main focus. Now, this is entirely a personal issue for me because while I enjoy an enemies-to-lovers trope, I feel like most romances with that trope turn to the lovers portion rather quickly, or that the enemies part isn’t as brutal as it was in this story. Janie and Fox weren’t just throwing little digs at each other, they were really bashing each other (Fox often more than Janie) and that just wasn’t my vibe. I don’t mind some light banter, but it was really hard for me to read when Fox was bringing Janie down so hard. Now, that is all on me because of my life and mental health issues, I’m sure, but I didn’t realize going into this book that the enemies portion of the enemies to lovers would be so much. I just felt like Fox was always trying to actively hurt Janie when he still hated her and, while he had his reasons (he was trying to keep her away because of his own issues) it was still a lot. While I do feel like eventually both Fox and Janie grew as people during this story, Fox’s growth was rushed at the end of the book because he had spent so much time dwelling on his past trauma and using that to hurt Janie and push her away that he didn’t have the time in the story to fix his issues and help himself. This book hit hard for me in a lot of areas because I can relate to Fox’s emotional trauma, but I could also relate to Janie when she was being hurt by Fox and his words and actions. Overall, this book was very well written and I enjoyed the end when Janie and Fox were actually trying to have a romantic relationship, but I just think that, for me personally, there was too much focus on them hurting each other and not enough focus on helping each other and fixing themselves so they could be in a happy, healthy relationship eventually.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Spicy age gap romance with well rounded characters and an interesting story (that definitely had me wanting to scream at Janie to just listen to Fox at points 😂) it was a very chill enjoyable read and I am super appreciative to have got an ARC copy of this book

You know when you read a book and you get that feeling that it's going to stick with you for a long time. That's this book. I can identify with Janie in so many ways. I too have essential tremors and lost my dad less than a year ago. I shed a quite a few tears reading this, but I'm so appreciative of the connection. Representation for lesser known medical conditions is severely lacking so to see it here was the best. Fox is so yummy and absolutely frustrating at the same time. The banter between these two is everything, it's my absolute favorite, they don't call DJ the queen of banter for nothing. The spice here is chefs kiss, top notch, crème de la creme need I say more. The bonus material in this new edition, besides the beautiful cover, is such a great update to this couple we loved so much through Fox. I am always, ALWAYS, up for more content with characters and stories that I love.

Arc Review
By: D.J. Krimmer
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
D.J. has a way of story telling that you won’t get bored of. We start out at a funeral, where things take a turn with arguing between the main characters Fox and Janie. Throughout the rest of the book we watch them build their relationship in a realistic way with someone who recently lost their only parent and someone who had an extremely messed up childhood. Janie is also juggling a double life with her online persona Jai. Fox has taken over the tattoo shop after Janie’s father passes away. West see their personal growth within Theo jobs as well. This book shows the realistic side of relationships while throwing in the fun spice and how life can be as and influencer and tattoo artist. Buckle up for the rollercoaster of Fox and Janie. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
There is a reason D.J. Krimmer is the queen of banter! I loved everything about this story from the main characters to the side characters I was INVESTED!!!
This was a classic enemies to lovers and when that tension finally bubbled over I was kicking my feet. I loved the way these characters even when they absolutely loathe each other they are still there for each other.
Amazing read I have not read the original of Fox or the rest in the series and I am seriously trying to decide if I should wait for the update of the other ones are start them now.

🐈⬛Torch, you'd better stop being so mean to me before I fall in love with you.
🐈⬛Janie- You've got me and even though I don't mean much to you. I'll never let you feel this way alone. I promise. If you need a hug just let me know, no questions asked.
Fox- You have no idea how wrong you are, Janie. You mean more than just about anything.
🐈⬛I'm willing to suffer that pain if it means she's happy.
🐈⬛Son, you are already in it too deep. You ain’t getting out unscathed.
