Disappointing. For such a beautiful premise, this story really falls short.
So many plot holes, at times bizarrely vulgar for no real reason, and honestly the characters just frustrated me so much that I didn't really feel anything by the end of the book.

Just finished a re-read. I forgot how brutally sad moments of this book are. Still, such a well done deep dive on every detail of what a time-traveling syndrome would be like

Found myself at a loss for what to rate this. I really liked the premise of the book and thought that it was executed in a cool way that didn’t leave me confused. I genuinely wanted to get back to the book to find out what would happen as I came to care about the characters and the letter that Henry writes to Clare made me tear up. However, there were quite a few things about it that I think didn’t age well (ironically). A major one — although it’s unclear whether it ever landed — was the age difference between the two protagonists when Henry visited Clare as a child. Putting myself in their shoes, how beautiful it would be to visit your partner before you met them. I personally know that I’m in love when I feel sad that I didn’t know him through every stage of his life and have been relegated to hearing stories about it. But because we don’t know Clare yet in the present, it just felt perverted to read. This was such a major part of the book that it made a good segment of it difficult to read.

This book was not at all what I expected. I love that element of surprise when you have an idea what a book is going to be about, and your perception was totally wrong. I didn't expect science fiction (a genre I rarely read) yet thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I had a hard time putting it down.

For the first 300 pages the book was slow and way too descriptive. About 350 pages in, the book became AMAZING. Still way too detailed but amazing! Such a great love story.
