I got an advanced copy of this book, but it was so good I had to buy it again! The relationship between the two characters reminds me of being young and having crushes on my brothers' friends. Now I didn't get Amelia's luck with one that liked me back. But it was good to reminisce. Nate and Amelia both went through so much, so be very aware of your own triggers, there's attempted SA, family death, and PTSD involved, those are the main ones I can pick out but I'm sure there are a few more. I'm not very trigger sensitive so while the triggers didn't affect me the actual emotions behind the characters had me bawling. If you love an emotional, imperfect love story this one is for you!
I wished I could score this book higher. I loved the beginning and it drew me in and I didn’t want to out it down. I love angst in a romance story. Beginning was great, middle started to drag and by the end I was skipping. For being in their 30s, the amount of miscommunication and floundering of the relationship got old; and then add in an accidental pregnancy and I was over it. I am glad Grant was finally exposed for what he was but then it was just pushed to the side when that was such a huge reason for why Amelia was the way she was.

Absolutely adored this second-chance romance and the dual timelines of how Nate & Amelia's relationship evolves. The miscommunication trope is strong here which, as someone who doesn't love it, frustrated me to no end. But the phenomenal writing of these complex characters hooked me and made me fall in love with Bristol Bay. I listened to this one on audio and the duet performances by Hannah Chiclana & Edward Black were excellent.
This story made me cry just as much as it made me laugh. I love both Nate and Amelia and their story is so sweet. The flashbacks give you an amazing understanding of who each character is and how they got where they are today.
