How can I not give this book 5 stars?
The writing is beautiful, and the plot is so well done. The breadcrumbs and foreshadowing between past and present start early on, and will keep you excited throughout the book.
Keri is a master of creating a gothic atmosphere and this book is no exception. The plot is unique, and the settings are hauntingly beautiful. The book contains a religious military cult, demons, angels, and all the variations in between, as well as a dark place for non-believers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and recommend it to everyone who loves a paranormal dark romance with a love that spans across lives and planes.
But make no mistake, this is a dark story. So check the TW, per usual.

Okay I’m not usually one for smut, the smut in this book is top tier. Don’t know what that says about me and don’t particularly care, I am HERE for it. The characters are so complex, the alternate purgatory-type world is dark and dangerous, and this story had me laughing out loud. Definitely enjoyed!

I could not breathe even a moment while reading this book. I was completely enamored in this world and just completely in love with both main characters.
Keri Lake NEVER disappoints, EVER.
This book is so unique and felt so real. I felt a lot of comparisons about the angels and dynamics to Sarah J Maas' "Crescent City." Idk if that's juts me, btu this book is BETTER imo.
Keri Lake so obviously thinks out her stories and characters SO much. You can truly feel the amount of time and care she puts in to her writing. It is a JOY to experience it.
I highly, highly recommend this book BUT be warned
Your heart will be ripped apart and sewn back together A MILLION times.
Thank God it ends on a somewhat HEA or I would be deceased rn.
I think I will put a small hiatus in between reading the next book, based on reviews.
