Second, everyone either monologues or speaks in paragraphs. Even as teenagers the characters have very long speeches with extremely proper grammar & formal tones.
No one talks like that.
I guess it's cute that they reconnect when she's 23 and he's rich but there was so much trauma and weird vibes throughout the book that I could not get over & enjoy the story.
ALSO - not ONCE did the girl give herself a Google. Five years of no memory but a driver's license and she didn't think to check out a single thing.
There were some cute lines & nice notes about grief, but not enough for me to overlook the rest of the disappointment I found here.
Will not be rereading & probably won't check out more from this author.

The blurb was misleading.
1. They never mention that it was an amnesia trope
2. It says, "When her boyfriend breaks her heart, Alanna goes after his older brother in a quest for revenge." That didn't happen
What I hated the most about this book was the age gap (he's 5 yrs older and they met when she was a minor)
"She looks up at me, her expression so deceptively innocent yet alluring. Does she realize how beautiful she is? She’s only sixteen, and she already looks like a vixen. She’s got curves most girls her age could only dream of, and those lips of hers have me looking away because she’s far too young for me to be thinking about that way." If she is too young for you to think about this way why are you thinking it?
"I have been treating you the way I would others your age, but it’s undeserved and unwarranted. I won’t do it again, okay?" She's a minor

This book contains mild trigger plots of abandonment and suicide. It is handled well but one should keep in mind while reading
This is my second Catharina Maura book, which is written way better. The other book I read was The Wrong Bride from Sinclair Series. The plot of this book is well tied together. It is an ex's brother romance trope. At first, I thought the first part was well written as it had a good story buildup. In the second part, I realised that they were just talking about the past all this while. It makes me wonder if it could have been written in a different way. It could have added more suspense.
Things I liked:
1. Plot. It had lots of potentials. I wish it had been narrated a bit differently but it is still a good read.
2. Characters. I liked that the leads had defined characteristics. ;
Things I wished were different:
1. Narrative structure. But that's my personal opinion. Could be biased.
