This is one of those series that started out strong, but slowly lost something for me. Maybe it was the repeated dwelling on whether or not Call was evil, or the mistrust from everyone else wearing on me. Though the end was satisfactory enough, solving problems, moving into the future... I don't feel the need to read this series again.
After really enjoying and being riveted by the whole series, I felt like the last book was a cop out- that everyone goes home happy and it's not really bad that Aaron was raised from the dead and there's no real consequence about the REAL big baddie that was unnecessarily revealed. And everyone gets girlfriends and everyone goes home happy. Boo.
This was obviously a HP fanfic idea CC had and Holly black executed in perfection. I loved the simplicity of it and the lack of an epilogue (lol). The ending was a bit anticlimactic but not bad. Very good middle grade story with far more diversity than jkr's series
This was a solid series but not without its own faults. There are a ton of things I wished the authors had explored more, but I'm happy with how it ended. My one criticism about this series is how Master Rufus was written... I loved him and I wish, wish, wish Callum had confessed in him more. I feel as though Rufus could have played a larger part in this series.
A great conclusion to a fun middle-grade series. I really loved how everything wrapped up.
