This is a really fun fantasy book and it’s a standalone too! I don’t read too many standalone fantasies, so I appreciated that we got it all in one book. I’m excited to read the next one which will feature her sister.

Ever Since reading The Hunger Games and then later Powerless (by Lauren Roberts) I knew I loved fantasy books with games and trials. So, I went into this one with high expectations because I knew it featured those things. While it certainly lived up to my expectations I was shocked as to how brutal it got! I wasn’t expecting that from a romantasy- but I loved it!

Now onto the romance. Was it spicy? YES. Was it believable? Not at first but once you get towards the end it makes more sense. When things started to click together, I had an “ah ha” and “WOAH” moment. I loved it. Sure, it comes off as insta love(ish) because everything takes place within a few days but I def. recommend reading on even if that’s not your favorite!

All in all, I thought this was great and I look forward to reading the next one!

I really liked this, and read it really quickly. The sister dynamic was a fun one, and the smut was... smutty. The concept was fascinating. Some of the darkness got to be a little too much for me to handle, but I pushed through and in the end I'm glad I have the second in the series already on hand.

I absolutely loved this book! I saw phantasma everywhere, from my fyp to my twitter TL and i definitely fell for the propaganda. I love the plot. Everything that has to do with fantasy, secrets and romance is right up my alley. Also, Ophelia’s character really speaks to me. She’s so strong and smart but i also love her soft side <3. Her bond with Genevieve is adorable and i hope we see more of them in book 2.
Also… Blackwell, I wasn’t familiar with your game omg. I never see him in the book bf trends but he definitely needs to be. He’s such a smooth talker (and I love it🤭). the tension between them was to die for and i love how they tease each other. But his back story is so sad I didn’t not expect that AT ALL😭. My only regret is not picking up this book earlier!!
