The story starts with the main character being interrogated by the police. And her telling the police her history with the victim’s husband but no secret every comes out. It had a good concept but not a great follow through.

I typically do not ever read books of this genre. Not necessarily because I’m not interested, I just have zero patience to find out an ending and always skip to the end to figure it out. But this was a book club choice so I had to read and I made sure to read it from the beginning to the end without peaking!

This book had me interested from the very beginning. I found this book to be very relatable (obviously on a much less extreme scale). This book did a great job at capturing what it’s like to fall in love for the very first time especially in high school and how crazy it can make you, especially when the romance ends and you’re stuck seeing your partner move on before you’re ready!

Although I wish this book had a much happier ending, I’m very glad I read it. The thrill of following along the tragedy of Angela’s life and mental illness kept me on my toes for many hours. The book was predictable in the sense that I could tell what the ending was going to be - but I was very much able to be caught up in Angela’s point of view and surprised at the end when it all came together!

I tried to finish this, twice, but was overcome with boredom. The MC is entirely too unlikeable. Also, the whole idea that a detective in a missing person/murder investigation would listen to someone recount the past decade of their life is just too unbelievable.

Our Little Secret is a fast, easy read that is also delightful in that the ending isn't what you expect. Characters are built through the main character; Angela telling her story or "secret". As you read you look for clues, possible motives , what happened to the missing wife of HP, turning over events and analyzing facts that come out during her interrogation. The ending is somewhat unexpected but too abrupt; the person responsible is revealed and book ends. I suspect a sequel is coming....
Overall a good, entertaining read.
