i had a family like Tanners and grew up with a whole lot of folks with families like Sebastian’s. I have lost touch with most of them, but i’d be lying if i didn’t worry about them deeply and often.

Jedyna dobra rzecz w ten ksiazce to wątek religijny i homoseksualizmu w mormońskiej społeczności

Bohaterów nie da się polubić są irytujący

Wątek insta love i Tanner cały czas myślący o Sebastianie jest jak wspomniałam irytujący

Książka miała potencjał ale zupełnie niewykorzystany

This novel felt like the writers opened a window into real life Provo Utah. This queer coming-of-age romance manages to be wholesome (in its way) as well as deeply thought provoking. It portrays the love and goodness of Latter-day Saints as well as the painful exclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals in the church. The cultural details and the experience of being raised in a Mormon family definitely rang true. There is no black and white here but many shades of gray. This is the book I wish every young gay Mormon could read.

This was the first same-sex love story I've read and I loved every minute of it. Like stayed up late at night reading, read on the walk to the grocery story, etc. Tanner and Sebastian had me swooning, laughing and crying the whole time. I loved reading through Tanner's emotions and witty thought process and being exposed to Sebastian's struggles. Though I do wish the book spent a little more time outside of their relationship, perhaps strengthening/better explaining Tanner's relationship with Autumn or his other friends to help round out the story. It felt like they were so important but also still just a side note. Give me another 100 pages and I would have torn through them!

Przeczytałam. Ja pier dole. Życie ze mn uciekło aktualnie

Read it in less than four hours. It made me both laugh and sob hysterically. Just...holy fuck.
