I love Tamora Pierce and this series (mainly out of love for the Song of a Lioness series). I think maybe this is my fault but I find Daine a less compelling and relatable character than Alanna. Maybe it’s because of her age or her character, but she seems to be missing the extra something that made Alanna so interesting.

More of the same, with no negative connotations. Slight growth of the main character, more interesting pieces of her magic coming in, a bit more about the overall story of the series. Also lots of fun wolf time.

Nostalgia means I’m not over these books. I’m basically reading them as if they were candy.

Did I tell you that Tamora Pierce is awesome? If I haven't, then read this review carefully..
...
SHE IS AWESOME.
On to the actually book review. Well, there wasn't much Numair in this one, and he's my favorite (I have this thing for the main male characters *innocent*). But Daine's relationships with the wolves and the animals are brilliant. Especially since she unlocks a new side of her wild magic that is just so fascinating to read. And how the wolves rebel against her orders and advice is fun to read ^.^

My reviewing skills suck right now. But yeah, it loves up to my expectations and I just love the Immortals series.

When the Wolf pack, led by Brokefang, ask Daine, the only wild magician, to help them stop the humans from ruining their territory, she and Numair go to their aid. However, they find something sinister going on a Long Lake as they find that the nobles are trying to usurp the throne from King Jonathan and Queen Thayet. In Wolf-Speaker we are introduced to both new and existing characters but my favourite is defiantly Kitten as she has so much character and is really sweet. I would recommend Wolf-Speaker to anyone who likes any of Tamora Pierce’s books.

Whilst this isn't my favourite in The Immortals series, it has still been a total joy to reread and rediscover over 20 years after first reading.

I still love Tortall and its inhabitants, its like meeting up with old friends. Rereading as an adult I really appreciate what a fantastic writer Tamora Pierce is.
