I really enjoyed this graphic novel. Jacob Portman discovers that stories his grandfather has told him are real. He receives a letter from a bird who resides in the setting within the stories. He locates this setting by following the bird in human form to this location. He has a mission to protect the people who reside in this location by using his own peculiar power. One of the only downsides to this graphic novel is the cliffhanger.

This book gave vision to the original book and brought it to life more than the movie which was much different than the novel but still a good movie by itself. The graphics are very well done and combined with the black and white pictures that are in the original book create a haunting, eerie but exciting blend od pictures and a story.
This is such an amazing story that I absolutely loved! I found that the writing style in the actual book didn't keep me interested long enough to discover the plot. I loved the graphic novel so much that I decided to read the original book as well. I counted down the days until Hollow City was published, and then counted down for Library of Souls as well. Needless to say, it is thanks to the graphic novel that I was introduced to such an amazing story.

The art in this one is gorgeous, and the graphic novel format does not hinder the story. Would definitely recommend picking this one up if you liked the book.
