I always love Ann's writing and the way she creates a whole world. This one felt like it ended/resolved too quickly for me, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
3.5 rounded up. Good story about family. Read it in a just a few hours.
The description on the back of the book leads you to believe this is a thriller, but it's absolutely not - just keep that in mind if you choose to dive in.

While I loved Bel Canto with all my heart, this book left me a little less than thrilled.
An interesting idea about how we are all related to each other in ways we know and do not know. Although the novel follows a predictable storline, there is a lot of truth spoken about world views and upbringing, families and belief systems and education and careers.
How did I miss this ten-year-old book by one of my favorites, Patchett? This story felt Kennedyesque with a twist.
I am so happy to be done with this book. Pretty much its only redeeming quality is the fact that it's a quick read. The characters are boring, the plot is unrealistic, and Patchett's writing style is pretentious. What a disappointment.
Extremely dynamic characters and skillful writing. The majority of the book takes place over the course of two days, but the story is so engrossing that I almost didn't realize it until about two-thirds of the way through.
How can I dislike this one after only 1 audio CD when Bel Canto was SO GOOD? I have too many books I want to read to keep pursuing this story.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked it much better than Bel Canto.
