Absolutely wonderful and amazingly representation of several queer and trans experiences from a trans writer. Not at all centered around hate and transphobia (though, of course the topic arises.) Delightful plot twist. Only draw back: the MC is *definitely* a teenager, but he gets better by the end, I promise.

This book made me role my eyes so hard. I try so hard to find good trans representation and I feel like there just isn’t any. It is so common that trans men get written as assholes and it makes it very hard for me to feel seen. I’m not going to be able to connect with a self centered jerk. It’s okay for a character to have layers and make mistakes but Noah was just so unlikable. Noah spends the first half of the book being so self centered and chronically online. Becca should have never forgave him bc he was such a dick and never changed his actions.
In addition, none of the characters were even remotely developed or well written. Devin could been such a great character but eir only personality traits are that e have anxiety and are non binary. There are only so many poorly written panic attack scenes a person can read.
Also, Noah and Drew’s relationship. They went from friends, to fake dating, to madly in love, and then we took a sharp turn and all of a sudden Drew is possessive. Plus, may I mention that Drew had reason to be jealous bc Noah was in love with Devin. I hate when characters can’t just be friends. Every mentioned character must be a love interest.
I am a strong believer that strong dialogue can save a book, unfortunately this book had some of the most poorly written dialogue I’ve ever read. Not a single emotion was conveyed through dialogue or actually in general throughout the whole book.
It’s safe to say I don’t recommend this book. 1/5 stars

A book featuring trans JOY on the frontlines and transphobia in the background, instead of the other way around? HELL
I have to admit, I had really high hopes for this novel. The promise seemed a little cheesy, but in a good way (who doesn’t want to read a diary about trans meet cures?), and the cover alone made me think this was going to be a good book. This book was okay. I did not really like the main character. He was too untitled (getting mad at his parents when they tell him he can’t spend $400 in a WEEK and getting mad that they say he needs a job), a bad freind (way to focused on himself), and too judgmental of people. I get that he is a teen, but I have read a lot of teen books and not a lot of them were on this level of annoying. This could have been fine if there was a character arc. If you can get passed an annoying main character, most of the side characters were great (I would read a novel focusing on Devin).
The plot itself is also a point of debate for me. I love the idea of a trans meet cute diary, but I don’t understand why the main character made up stories and didn’t take submissions. However, I did love the discussions of gender and sexuality and the novel was a easy read.
If you can get through an annoying main character and can look past some questionable plot elements, this is a really cute book and I can’t say I regretted reading it.

I kinda hated this book. As a trans person, I really dont like the overexplaination of representation. And I kinda hated the ending.

I wanted to love this book. I was looking forward to it but god did I hate it. The main character is entitled and kinda crazy. His relationship has so many red flags and he was like lol. At points it got triggering to read. Also this character is side line trans. It is mentioned in relation to the diary but not when meeting people, in relationships or how it relates to Devin. Also having to sit through a whole book just to the last ten pages is horrible. The only reason this book didn’t get a worse score was because of the last ten pages and Devin because I’ve never seen a genderqueer character in a book
This was a fun and easy romcom to read through. Noah is a trans guy who came to Denver for the summer to stay with his older brother. He runs a blog on Tumblr called the meet cute diary for trans kids to post their stories. All seems to be going good until a troll calls out the blog for having fake stories. Noah freaks out and his best friend helps calm him down and tells him to just ignore the trolls. But of course he can't do that because his followers are dropping. So when he sets out to look for a job he happens upon drew. Drew was a guy he had met at an ice cream shop and wrote a meet cute entry for the blog about him. One thing leads to another and they decide to fake date to save the blog, but things don't go as planned. Noah finds a job working at a summer camp with his brother, where he meets Devin. Their first meeting isn't exactly a meet cute, but Noah later comes to realize he likes Devin a whole lot more than Drew. Read the book to find out more
