Bikers and murder and war oh my! I found myself learning a great deal more about outlaw biker clubs than I ever thought. I actually shudder at the thought of researching this one had I been the the author. I have certainly heard of biker wars before so I didn't go into it blindsided, however I was blindsided by Ryan's storyline which happened very very suddenly and unexpectedly. I found Kits involvement to be a tad hard to swallow even though I realize it's a plot devise to get the protagonist closer to the action. I have to wonder if poor Tempe will have any family or friends left in the end. I enjoyed it.

If I were tempe's family I would cancel my visit. It's dangerous out there for friends and family in her world! The drama with Kit felt a little too manufactured, especially after all the drama with her sister. I don't think we need to endanger a family member to make us care about the crimes every time so hoping that eases back a little and focuses more on crime and less ways to shove family members into danger.
The general mystery was less engaging than the past (gangs were just never my thing) and obviously Ryan was MIA for most of the book for dramatic reasons. Would have loved to read this as it came out and been so betrayed but obviously a little spoiled with being 20 years post publishing lol but anyways I liked the science still

Still good, but the least exciting so far in the series.

This was an awesome book. I listened to it on the iPod. I am really enjoying this series. The library only has 3 of the books all audio version so I'll have to start thinking about buying them.

I really enjoy Reichs’ books because they always turn out to be super fun mysteries. On top of that, she always writes very intellectually. By that, I mean if a topic needs research (like for this particular novel, biker clubs and gangs) she really comes across as having done the work to know what she needs to know. I really admire that quality in a mystery writer, especially. I was, however, unsatisfied with the lack of developments between Andrew Ryan and Tempe, but I guess that’s just one thing to keep you reading the series!

Abridged version ... Biker Gangs
Did NOT like what happens with Det. Ryan in this book. Not surprised, but not happy he's not in the book more.
Brennan's nephew plays a big part in this book. Kit comes for a visit & hooks up with a Biker gang and gets stuck smack dab in the middle of a gang war.
