ehhh didn’t like the direction it went in but was somewhat amusing to read. gave disingenuous white feminist vibes. who the hell touted this as a feminist book

One of just a handful of recommendations from my most treasured resource this year, Bad Men is a refreshing take on the mystery/thriller. Saffy is an heiress/socialite/former model. She is also a serial killer.

She only kills very bad men.

I enjoyed this one, and the narration was spot on.

It was so much fun.

Well this was thoroughly entertaining. Saffy is a serial killer who develops a crush on true crime podcaster & novelist, Jonathan Desrossiers. It’s kind of a fun romp as Jon & Saffy get to know each other & try to solve a crime Jon has been accused of committing. I was pulling for Saffy even while I was concerned about what she might do next or who she might kill. A fun mystery with a quirky romance & lots of death & destruction.

I liked this. I hope it's the start of a series. Though I wish we spent more time in Saffy's POV, rather thans Jon's. I didn't find his PoV that interesting, other than actually knowing 100% that Saffy's plan is working.

This was a perfect slumpbuster—a quick, compelling read with a dynamic cast of characters and enough twists and open questions to keep you guessing. The mystery element itself felt a little similar to the Magpie Murders and other bastions of contemporary British murder mystery, but the main character, in some ways, reminded me of Finlay Donovan, were she a lot more calculating with her actions.
