Best ending to a series ever. It was both a realistic ending and a happy (ish) ending. I was sad to see the series end but Richelle Mead did it in the best possible way.

This book left me speechless. Such an amazing book and series, I 100% recommend this series. A must read.

I can't believe how much better this book is than the last one. Books 1-3 were good and 4 was ok but 5 had me slamming my head into a wall and I only just finished it. I didn't want to read this book because five was sooo bad but then I felt I had to because I've read five out of six books. SO glad I did! This is Mead back in the game. She phoned in the last couple of books but really threw it all in for the final book. She even did a good set up for the next series.

For the most part everything wrapped up nicely with a big ol' bow and a smile. It was a bit of an odd read because there's so much set up for the next series that while you know it's the closure of one series of books, there are all kinds of strange, dangles left over and it makes you want to read the next series.

I thought Rose was pretty true to herself. It bothered me when she cheated on Adrian but I wasn't surprised. Rose's sense of morals has always been a bit skewed and she's very focused on what's good for her and what's good for Lissa. If those things line up with what's good for others then great but if not, oh well, tough luck. I'll admit, I liked Rose less and less as the series went on. I still thought the books were fun but Rose and Lissa got crapper with each book. They just aren't all that nice or thoughtful though Mead tries to write them as such.

The fact that Mead left the world the same was disappointing but unsurprising. I really hoped that Rose and Lissa would bring great social change but when the books ends things are actually worse than they were before. Sure, Lissa's life is better, she's queen and can help Rose make sure her life is on track too but the rest of their society is pretty much out of luck. Mead does a flimsy job of implying Lissa's reign will change things but I guess that's the difference between an adventure novel and a romance novel - this is more of a romance novel. It could have easily been an adventure novel but Mead put more focus on Rose getting Dimitri than social statements. Such is life.

what an epic conclusion to the series and a perfect segue into the spin-off. we got a happily ever after for rose at the end but still some loose ends that were clearly pointed out in the last two chapters as well as a new one in the form of jill and her relationship with lissa. like what was up with those mysterious expressions on lissa’s face right before and during the coronation. i kind of wish that rose and dimitri got back together a little earlier on but those are just my selfish needs because pacing wise it was good. was i said for adrian? of course he became one of my favourite characters in this series from the moment we got his introduction so i’m looking forward to reading the spin-off series A LOT. i have to say i had figured out the who everyone thought the murder was right before the main cast, but once they figured it out when they did, i started to feel unsure. then at one point during the day i reread the synopsis and saw that the murder setting rose up was a betrayal against her and thought that the main suspect didn’t fit the criteria for that. i did have the actual murder at the top of my list after that but even then i was still unsure because they hadn’t revealed everything which would explain why she of all people would frame rose for it (i get why she killed tatiana though). i kind of wish we got to see more of mia but with the size of the cast in the series i wasn’t surprised that she barely showed up in this book. i’m planning to reread and annotate the entire series now before i pick up the spin-off series. i’m so glad i finally read this series, it was so worth it.

Spoiler Holy crap!I am so happy she ended up with Dimitri! God, it only took them SIX books to realize they were perfect for each other! I just wished they had patched things up with Adrian more, he definitely should have ended up with Jill or someone so he could be happy too. I can't believe Jill and Lissa are sisters, I definitely did not see that coming. Good job Richelle Mead, you actually surprised me.

Wow! That was really good. I liked the ending a lot.

I really enjoyed this. The book was fun to read, and though some questions are left unanswered I am reassured by the sequel series that awaits me. Rose is the girl of my heart man.

I will miss this series. I love it because it has subtly unique things about it. Particularly, having a protagonist that is so....action orientated. I mean, a lot of books have female character act but they also do a large amount of reacting and being passive before the narrative allows them to act. Not Rose. Oh no, the only reason the plot moves is because she, being a force of nature does it.

She's not perfect. I want to hit her sometimes and on one notable occasion I just felt that she was in the wrong COMPLETELY. However, I do think she is something awesome and special. I will miss her voice.

Here's hoping Sydney can handle the new mantle of "Queen" so to speak. ;) I'm sorry this isn't long and spoilery, I guess I'm still processing it/letting it stand with the series as opposed to apart.
