I honestly hope that Richelle Mead won't disappoint her fans by not ending the story happily, and by that I mean Rose & Dimitri should be together, at least in the end. To me, I'd be devastated if (I heard) Dimitri will reject her love in the end. I was heartbroken when Dimitri was turned Strigoi. I almost cried when Rose went all the way to Russia and informed his family about his "death" (change of state). It really hurt me that after them (Rose & Dimitri) planning their future, all these tragedies happened.. as if to purposefully ruin the possibility of their relationship growing.
As for Lissa & Christian, I think they should be together. They're cute like that, and I think Lissa really loves him for real. I hope they don't split up or something.
Adrian... well, I don't know, I didn't like him that much. He's okay.. He was one of the important characters though, but he just doesn't fit with Rose.
The most important thing is, Rose & Dimitri finally get together! I would be badly shocked if they don't in the end ( or if he/she rejects his/her love), after all that has happened.. they're bound to be a couple!
I haven't read Spirit Bound yet, but I hope when I do I won't be disappointed.. Oh and I cannot wait for Last Sacrifice. I hope everybody has a happy ending. (especially Rose & Dimitri!).

I can't believe this series is over.
A classic YA fantasy with vampires. If I'm in need of an easy read I may pick this series up again. I love the single movie that was made based off these books so much.

I really wanted to give it more than 3 stars, but I feel like everything fell into place almost too easily at times. It was quite predictable. Good, but got boring real fast. Actually, the ending was a surprise, but I felt like there were missing details as to who killed the queen, and with Tasha being the murderer, I just didn't feel like the evidence that was presented was good enough, but who am I kidding, Richelle Mead is not Agatha Christie - who is hands down, the queen of mystery murder. The conclusion felt rushed, it was like, Okay, it's going to be a happy ending with Dimitri and Rose together, Lissa's got the crown, family is together, but there was just so many things left open. Really, I know the author stealthily said, "I know, Sydney's still a mystery, and Adrian's going to be heartbroken, and etc." But Sydney was a major character who was just tossed into jail and we never hear from her again! Not even one line explaining what all happens to her. And Lissa's relationship with Jill is very iffy since the author decided to include that she have shifty eyes. That's always a precursor to more books in the series, but this appears to be the last one....
And I'm also angry that Rose cheated on Adrian, but I've come to accept that Rochelle Mead was writing with Rose's character in mind - being that she is too obsessed with Dimitri and got caught up in the moment - to show weakness in character. That Rose is not a super person who is without desire and temptation. But cheating is bad! And I rooted for Adrian even though I knew he'd get bulldozed in the end; though I didn't think he'd take it so badly. Yet I thought that Dimitri and Rose seem to be the better pair even with an age gap.
I've got to say that the beginning of the book captivated me really well, but with everything I've said up there, I had to dock off some stars as the story started spiraling downward. It had it's good moments and entertained me, but the ending disappointed me... :\
