I don’t write reviews often but this book deserves it. Absolutely phenomenal! I did cry a lot though!
This is book 31 in this series. Most of the books are good. It’s one of my favorite authors and her books are good fluffy romances with fairly low stakes but interconnected characters and some carry-over plot from book to book. I like her stuff but it is normally easy to disconnect and do other things then pick it up again later. NOT this book!
80% of the book = Good, think it might be one of my favs in the series. I like the characters, I am interested in their stories. There is some tragic backstory that is sad but I am not actively sad or crying.
20% of the book = I am alternating between sobbing by myself at 11:00 at night and ranting at imaginary characters because there are SO MANY EMOTIONS!!!
This book has the AUDACITY to rip my heart out with no warning! And it happened late at night so obviously, I have to keep reading to find out what happens next. I can’t just go to sleep in the middle of this drama. I cried for HOURS over like 2 or 3 chapters out of the entire book. The entire rest of the book is the same fluffy romance as the rest of the series, it is just a few chapters that have gotten to me!
Stupid me just reading along thinking it is the same fluff as always. Then BAM “ don’t mind me just here to rip out your heart” then it goes right back to fluffy no stakes romance just like the rest of the series. And the worst part is I had predicted the surprise plot twist early on, yet it still ripped out my heart when it happened because of how it was written! I thought I was prepared because I know the series and the author's style, I had predicted the ending … and yet!
It is a wonderful book and might be one of my new favorites. Lynsay Sands, this is an amazing book and you should be proud of yourself!

A typical Argeneau book by [a:Lynsay Sands|17059|Lynsay Sands|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1194362953p2/17059.jpg]. I enjoyed the dynamic between G.G. and Sofia. Just a sweet quick read with personable, nice lead characters.
This was my first book of Lynsay Sands and I didn't realize it was #31 in the series. The good news is, I don't think it mattered. I was not lost at all and had no idea it wasn't a standalone. Anyone can pick this book up and read it.
Overall, this was a pretty entertaining read. I enjoyed the main characters, especially Angel. I liked how she couldn't help but get herself in trouble with the council for stepping in to save humans. She had a good sense of right and wrong and was willing to take her chances to do the right thing. She's had a bad past and doesn't trust easy but she seems to draw people to her despite that.
G.G. or Joshua, was as equally an entertaining character. He's not one that will make you go all hot and bothered for a hero, but I liked him. His mother was hilarious.
This has a good cast of side characters that I can easily assume are mc's in previous books. I have found a few couples that I want to get to know more, so I will be checking out some of the earlier books.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a decent paranormal romance. Ildaria is an immortal turned vigilante determined to make a life for herself and help those that can't help themselves. I liked that the author included a Hispanic heroine, it brought a rich multicultural aspect to the story.
I wasn't crazy about how much time she spent trying to make G.G. to fall in love with her because she suspected he was her life mate. It kinda took the anticipation and romance right out of it.
Overall, a good read worth checking out.

I'm sorry, I just finished the of reading this book and I have to comment on the lazy writing of the main heroine.
The writer says she's from the Dominican Republic. Reminds the reader *many* times that she's from the Dominican Republic, and then the author proceeds to write her backstory as if she'd grown up in Mexico and, made it sound like living in 18th century Dominican Republic is like 90s teen movie of house parties and underage drinking? This is extremely lazy writing and frankly, insulting.
I *love* this series and have read every single one of these books and this one is so OVERTLY IGNORANT that *again*, I had to put the book down *MIDWAY* because the author then stated that the Dominican Republic was part of South America when it's in the Caribbean.
The story is lazy and using sexual assault and molestation as an integral plot device added to the discomfort of this book. It seemed rushed and felt like a huge chunk of the story was missing.
Ms. Sands, I'm really disappointed. Like, super disappointed. This is an embarrassment.
