I am glad this wasn’t my first Jojo Moyes book, because if it was, I wouldn’t have read the others. It should have taken me 3 days to finish this book, but the first half was so boring that it stretched into 2 weeks. Luckily, the second half was halfway decent. Still, my least favorite of her books by far, mostly because it jumps in time and place without warning and causes temporary disorientation and by the time you figure out where and when you are, you tend to miss out on the clues.

Not my favorite book by Jojo Moyes, but still okay. The main character was annoying even after she was supposed to have grown up and changed so I spent most of the reading time irritated.

I love JoJo Moyes and The Peacock Emporium was one of the first books she wrote. Although her other books are generally very enjoyable, this book was only mediocre. For the first half of the book it was difficult to tell whose perspective was being shared and that caused recurring confusion. Suzanna, the main character, wasn’t very likeable and was frustrating at times. The plot was fairly predictable. The Peacock Emporium wasn’t a terrible book, but it certainly wasn’t great either. Since writing this book Moyes has become a much more skilled writer. Unless you are a huge fan of JoJo Moyes, I would not recommend this book.

Not my favorite Moyes book, but also not bad! The main character is discontent in most of the book and longing for something more, and when she finds him, she upends her whole life without a second thought to those affected. It had a cool storyline of her parents too, which made the book more intriguing.

A bit boring and too long, sorry to say. For some reason I missed Maeve Binchy's storytelling while reading this.
