I really enjoyed this or him story of the Remnant Universe. I’ve had the Remnant Chronicles on my TBR for a very long time. I decided to read this short origin story first before I dive into the trilogy. I read the illustrated special collector’s edition and it’s just gorgeous 😍 This is short read but I was totally invested in this forbidden romance. It’s full of survival, over coming adversity & choosing the right thing even when it means going against your clan. I loved Morrighan & Jafir and I’m excited to pick up The Kiss of Deception. This is closed door YA

This was good, an interesting origin story for Morrighan and Jafir and the illustrations were beautiful. I liked how it gave their side of the story and showed how history can change when passed through word of mouth, Lia thought she discovered the “true” story behind Gaudrel, Venda, and Morrighan and this gave another perspective. Novellas just often feel rushed to me and this definitely moved very quickly from one point to the next.
