The latter fourth of the book saved it from being completely irredeemable. But the beginning was the worst. The absolute worst. The book got progressively better as it went on, but that doesn’t really make up for the secondhand embarrassment I endured.

A fun little read to occupy my time while I was laid up with a bad cold.

Only reason j kept reading was because I liked the character of the sister and didn't want to be trading the next book missing out on bits. Love at first sight, miscommunication trope all of it was very annoying. I'm glad she didn't just cave when he made the mistake but it is not good

Overall a nice romance novel. It wasn't my favorite Julia Quinn novel but even when it's not my favorite she pulls me in. Her writing is spectacular!

I hate the trope where the hero does the exact same thing as the villain, but it's oh so romantic and sweet because Alphas. Ugh.

"Father, how could you attempt to keep me and my love apart? I know you don't trust her, but I do and we will make our own decisions. I shant speak to you ever again for this."

"Love, your apartment is crap and your job demeaning. I don't care that you like them, I'm abducting you until you see sense. What do you mean I'm too domineering to marry? I just want what's best for you."
