Ugh the miscommunications were annoying but I loved these two MCs. He got a little annoying with all of his pestering but at least he wasn’t an ass.
Plus the scene at the dressmaker’s was just delightfully absurd which is something I always relish in a book

The beginning almost killed it for me, way too saccharine. But that was the point bc then it all went to hell and was really interesting watching things from there.

No but seriously a fun read not to be taken in ernest. Pretty melodramatic and bit much conversation between the mcs with not enough plot, but it was well done. Could have been 100 pages shorter

Une lecture sympathique mais sans plus.
Je pense que c'est particulièrement dû à l'intrigue 'coup de foudre' à laquelle je ne crois pas particulièrement. Un quiproquo qui dure très longtemps et des personnages très attachants mais qui sont tantôt hésitants (je pense au perso féminin) tantôt un chouilla trop dans le contrôle (je pense au personnage masculin). Ils ne communiquent pas réellement bien et ça rend le roman un chouilla long.
J'ai tout de même bien apprécié ma lecture, c'est un roman qui se lit vite et qui est bien écrit, je n'ai tout simplement pas particulièrement apprécié l'intrigue plus que cela.

I have loved so many of Julia Quinn’s books, so I thought this one would be no different.
I’m disappointed to say I didn’t really enjoy this book. I found Robert and Victoria incredibly difficult to like even remotely. Robert spent 99% of the book angry at Victoria for something and he was constantly stalking her wherever she went.
Victoria was no better. She spent so much time angry at Robert and constantly saying intentionally hurtful things. As a couple, I just couldn’t get behind them.
I finished it because I wanted to hope it would get better, but it wasn’t what I know and loved from previous Julia Quinn books I’ve read.
