Guess who's being an ass again. Yup, it's Issac.
I hate when I end up taking sides in a relationship but in this case, it's impossible not to. Carter is so wonderful and understanding and cares so much. And Issac... even though I know he loves Carter and his verbal lashing out is about his own insecurities, it's not right that he lashes out at Carter. I mean seriously, does he have to be so fucking mean?
Still, this was really good book and I was quite happy with how Carter and Issac's story ended. It was just a little frustrating getting there.

NR Walker does it again. I quite enjoyed this follow up to [b:Blind Faith|17450677|Blind Faith (Blind Faith, #1)|N.R. Walker|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1362048638s/17450677.jpg|23634287]. I know this might be boring to others, but at times, I don't mind reading about established couples. Sure there's the allure of experiencing the buildup of 2 people getting together; there's also the comfort of seeing those 2 people who love each other struggle with some roadblocks. Carter and Isaac are going strong and said roadblocks do come into play - several of them in fact. Of course by the end they're better off because of those challenges. This was a bit more serious and poignant in tone than the first - intersperse that with some light smexy times - and you've got an excellent, reassuring read.

I'm not a big fan of how whiny and distrustful Isaac was in this one. It felt like so much of the book was him pouting and refusing to communicate.
Good story, needs proofread
I really enjoyed this story, but there are a lot of typos. I find that they are distracting from the otherwise good writing.

Isaac was incredibly hard to like, he treated Carter like absolute dirt. Sure they got their HEA and Carter was happy but damn that was a lot ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I normally LOVE any thing NR Walker writes. But this book had me sobbing whilst trying to get through the heartbreak Carter suffered. I am unsettled still with the ending. It wasn't enough for me to be soothed. I don't care for that much angst, 2020 is mean enough. I'm going to go read a sugary sweet couple to make my heart hurt less.
Ugh let me tell you, Isaac was even more of an ass in this book. He had me so mad at him for being so clueless and so mean to Carter sometimes. I wanted to throw my Kindle so many times! Carter is better than me because I don't know if I would want to talk to him again, hehe. I would have made him grovel big big time. Now you might think I didn't like this book because of what I wrote, but I actually did because if a book can get me this mad then it was great ;-) Yep I also shed a few tears.
When the sequel is better...
When the sequel is better than the first.
What a whirlwind. The ups and downs, the heartbreak and harsh words. This book was amazing. Following on from the first book, it follows Carter and Isaac after about a year of dating. There are twists in this book and I loved the ride. NR Walker has a knack for making her characters supremely real and shows that no matter how much you love someone you still have the power to break them.
This book sucked me in from start to finish, highly recommended read!
