Riley and Tao having been dancing around each other for a while now, and finally it's come to an end, or a beginning. Tao wants her more than just one time, and more than just casual, but he can't seem to get that through to her. Even though they started this relationship both of them are having issues with it, and when trouble comes to find the pack and Riley, Tao will do everything in is power to make her his mate and keep her safe.
This book was really good and another great addition to this series. I am a little bit tired of them not knowing they are true mates, but then they find out they are. It would be a nice change of pace if they actually knew they were for once. Other than that I really liked this one, and I enjoyed Tao and Riley together. Riley is a strong heroine who can handle Tao very well, and as usual this one had as many laughs as many of the others in this series.

The broody Tao finally gets his happy ending with Riley, the raven shifter that recently joined the pack.
The two of them had a pretty rocky start, what with Tao insisting that she leave their territory, while Riley refused to give anyone any explanations regarding her past.
Time and the pull they both felt, eventually led to a drunken one night stand that was the beginning to a relationship they both secretly wanted.
A story following in the same tone as the previous books, heavy on the steamy scenes and with a hint of mystery to keep things interesting. This one is about.
The series continues with Trick's story in [b:Wild Hunger|37975248|Wild Hunger (The Phoenix Pack #7)|Suzanne Wright|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1516121961s/37975248.jpg|59697840] as well as in the spin-off series that focuses on the Mercury Pack wolves.

Finally we get Tao's story. I really love that grumpy fucker and his little raven mate is wonderful. The only thing I wanna know now is WHEN DO WE GET DOMINCKS STORY, DAMNIT.
Riley and the kids are some of my favourite characters in this series. And I'm so glad Greta met Alan. I really wish we'd get even more of them

So, let's talk.
I won't hesitate to say Tao was my least favourite enforcer. I didn't hold some kind of strong disliking for him, and I can't fault him for whatever he was doing with Taryn back then, and how he was never accepting of Jaime at first, but I like to believe that's all in the past. Still, I was a tad wary about him before I started reading this one.
Fortunately, Ms. Wright did not disappoint. She made me love Tao, in all his gruff, rough and blunt grace. I realised that he was who he was, and he wanted what he wanted. I got to see him treating Riley the way she should be treated, I noticed him understanding her, loving her and ONLY her, and it was enough for me. He had his reasons for Taryn - well, kind of - and I wanted to strangle Greta when she almost fucked things up. BUT. Gotta love Gretchen the grouch.
Riley is an absolute delight. First diverse shifter in the series so far when it comes to mates, and I really enjoyed the small differences between ravens and wolves that we got to see. Her uncles were the sweetest, and her backstory just as sad, but hey, it happens. We love a tragic backstory.
Again, I love this series. The brotherhood, the tight knitted family, the bonds and connections, the plots, the love, the problems everyone fights against together, it's a dream pack and every other pack just WISHES they could be half as great as the Phoenix Pack.
Not as great as Marcus + Roni, but I've decided that nothing will be. Still, great on its own. Give it a go. 10/10 recommended.
Happy Reading, xo!

Even though Riley and Tao's story is mostly the same as the others in the series I still love them. Each book in this series has drama+love+sex+friendship and characters that live like a big family. I think that's the reason I really love these series because there is no bad grudge between pack mates and they are all very supportive and every time I read a book like this I am really looking for a supportive environment for their love to grow and be stable. This series is really big on supportive family and friends so YEAH! Amazing for me!
Riley & Tao's relationship starts in a bad way, he doesn't trust her at the beginning which is fine by me, you can't trust someone fast. After they have their one-night stand Tao starts to get his head out of his ass and pursue her, FINALLY!! I always like more the books in which the guy is going more after the girl, which is the case here.
I like Riley as a character, she is not my favorite girl from this series but still, she is decent and didn't annoy me most of the time, only like 40%...
Probably will read it again and again in the future, who knows.
