I enjoyed this one a lot. The dinner scenes were way hotter than I thought they'd be. I did feel that Jeremy seemed much younger than 27,and there seemed to be much more of an age difference between Jeremy and Brice than eight years. Still, I really enjoyed watching them get to know each other, both in and out of the club.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a pleasure to read. The dinner scenes were hot and sexy. It was nice that Jeremy didn't seem embarrassed by his job and he talked openly about it with his roommate. He seemed to fit in with the dinner club boys extremely well. No jealous backstabbing going on there either, which was nice. The boys were having a good time and making money as well. The club environment could have gone in a completely different, darker direction and I was expecting it. I'm not sure I trusted it at any point during the story. Thomas seemed too good to be true, but maybe because I've read too much dark m/m. ha!

Based on the blurb, I was expecting more drama, more angst, more relationship problems with the whole funding issue, but it didn't come up until about 70% into the book, after a mostly hot buildup of Jeremy and Brice's relationship. Then it was resolved quickly with little drama and angst. More details of how it was resolved would have been nice, rather than it occurring off the page then being "filled in" about it when Brice explained to Jeremy. But I guess that wasn't quite the focus of the story, so it's forgivable.

Overall, it was a low angst, low drama sexy read.

I liked the characters well enough, and the premise for the dining club was very kinky. I enjoyed the eroticism of book and the first 80%. However, I felt that last bit was too rushed with not enough communication.

When this book first crossed my radar, I was VERY excited to get my hot little hands on it. Who wouldn't?! I wanted to do dirty, dirty things to this cover model. Seriously, I took one look at this abs... er, I mean, man and my brain short circuited into an unrelieved loop of "UNF! UNF! UNF!" The book had to be excellent too, right?!

Sadly, it was not. [b:Dirty Dining|23944818|Dirty Dining|E.M. Lynley|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1418928514s/23944818.jpg|43549587] just did NOT live up to that stellar cover.

The book started out with a lot of promise. I really liked the premise of the nerdy microbiologist so dedicated to continuing his work on an HIV vaccine that he turns to prostitution to fund his research. And, I thought the twist on the world's oldest profession (taking it to the kink-tastic Dinner Club instead of a street corner or a Craigslist ad) was pretty damn creative. I also appreciated Brice and Jeremy's initial unease with each other and the way their personalities shone through what could have been a seedy situation.

Unfortunately, though, what started out molten hot (hello, Mr. Sky Blue!) turn repetitive and boring very quickly. One moment I was all "I'll have what she's having!" this novel, and the next I was bored out of my skull.

There's a point in every romance novel with a character who is a prostitute when the MCs need to transition from client and sex worker to men with real feelings for each other who can't help but break the boundaries of their initial interactions. I like the couples in the romance novels I read, well... couple-y. I want dates and sweet glances and hot sex (exclusively with one another, I should point out). Lynley got there eventually, but I felt like it took too long.

And when it did, I still felt like it lacked the emotional punch that I was looking for. I had to read the Big Misunderstanding scene twice before I realized it was an honest to goodness fight. Yes, I could see that the characters were upset, but the whole thing was just so conversational - their tones both so even and in control - that when Jeremy
Spoiler told Brice to get out and not come back
, I was a little shocked. And when Brice
Spoiler declared his love for Jeremy seconds later
, I just didn't buy it. I didn't think that they were at that point yet.

Bottom line, this one just didn't do it for me. *shrug*

It's interesting to note that the early reviews on this one seem to be love it (4.5 to 5 stars) or hate it (DNFs and 2 stars) - there's really not many in between. So, feel free to ignore my review and give it a whirl. If you are still enjoying the hell out of it between 20-50% progress on your Kindle, you'll probably end up on the high end of the reading experience. If you're bored and not feeling it, I recommend DNFing and moving on to the next smexy book on your TBR pile.

I had some trouble getting my head around the huge leaps in subject matter in this novel. It's not everyday that I read scenes of public nudity and voyeurism combined with developments in HIV vaccines and venture capitalism. Not necessarily a judgment on the writing itself as much as my ability to cope. Call it a touch of cognitive dissonance.

It was okay. Nice read but nothing more. It made me laugh, but nothing remarkeble.

I hate to say this, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as I thought I would have. The blurb sounded fun and delicious. However, I struggled to get through it, to be honest. I actually put it aside and read other book in between, and in general, that's not a great sign.

To be perfectly honest, I felt there was too much sex *gasp* in this book. While I liked the premise, and the characters, the sex seemed to overshadow nearly everything else. I didn't feel I got much of a chance to get to know the guys... I'm disappointed, because I really do enjoy this author's work. This one, obviously, is just not for me.

Loved it, so close to being a 5 star read. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

This book was super steamy and hot. Jeremy met Brice when Jeremy took a second job as a server at a Dinner Club that featured stripping and sex acts. Brice grudgingly went to the club with a coworker, but is immediately smitten with Jeremy. They were very sweet characters as they find their place as a couple in the outside world and in the club. There wasn’t a lot of angst in this, which I was really glad about, because these guys were perfect together.
