I think the Priory of the Orange Tree was slightly better than this but i still really enjoyed this and I was just so excited that I could read more of this world! I love this series so much. <3

Like in "The Priory of the Orange Tree" the characters are amazingly written and convince with their realness. All of their backstories and current lore is so tragic and heartbreaking and I felt with every single one of them. A thing I also really appreciate is the diversity of ethnicities, religions and sexuality, the author clearly took a lot of time to develop every aspect of this world and its people. The storyline was interesting as well and although the pacing was rather slow from time to time I was intrigued how the story was gonna continue.
