It was a really good written book. Better than the first ever written one of the author, though the last two chapters wouldn't have had to be whole chapters and instead could've just been mentions in the other parts of the book in my opinion, but that's alright. Really helpful practical, emotional, spiritual and philosophical for trauma survivors and people, that want to live a more truer life for themselves.

I really liked the parts of co-regulation. It’s so important to use the emotion regulation of other people. And showing up for others in our relationships in the capacities that we can. But there were some like “woo-woo” science in here, that could have been in addition to promoting the work in therapy. I wanted more reflective exercises or journal prompts and more action steps for us to take.

This book is packed with valuable information and is highly applicable. I’ll admit, I wasn’t as thirsty for this info during this phase of my life, so it was quite challenging for me to get through it. However, if you’re interested in breaking cycles, finding peace, and healing your relationships, this book offers scientifically backed arguments to explain various relationship dynamics. It also includes exercises and practices for readers to apply to their own lives and improve their situations. It was educational for me, and I think could be life changing for many.

I like the topic but didn’t get many new ideas for some reason.

A lot of the info really resonated with me- I love her instagram account and have loved her work book. BUT this felt VERY repetitive to her first book + work book. I feel like over half the book was a repeat, even a lot of the stories she shared which was disappointing. I’d still recommend her books because it does offer practical ways to start healing and learning about yourself, just was hoping for a book entirely of new, fresh info!
