Tease Me Once

3.71 AVERAGE

Declan is the one who keeps his family together and is always there to keep the secrets…secret.
Braelynn is just trying to get her life back on track and get over her asshole of ex. Her friend sets her with a job at a local club and things are going great that she captures the bosses attention.
His new pet seems to be just what he needs…or is she?

I love where the series is going…but this book started slow. I’m excited to see what happens next!

Who doesn’t love a villain who is soft towards his girl? Literally the first sentence of the prologue will have you hooked and ready for more. Declan someone manages to be a possessive alpha while still showing us his soft side for Braelynn. It’s not a super soft side but enough to show he cares while still being his domineering self. Seeing the real Brealynn emerge from her shell was great. I loved the chemistry between the characters. This book was hot, steamy, and every synonym you can think of. I can’t wait for more. This is a duet so there is a cliff hanger!

Meh.

I can always guarantee a Willow Winters novel will set me on fire and Tease Me Once is no exception. In book one of the Shame On You series, we meet Declan, the youngest of the alpha Cross brothers, who runs into someone in another life who showed him compassion when others avoided him. Will he return the favor when she needs him to trust her?

Braelynn is ready for a change. She'll "fake it until there's more happiness than pain in her life." No more loneliness, no more abusive ex-husband, and no more living with others. Her job waitressing at The Club will hopefully set her in a new direction, but her boss is Declan Cross. A vulnerable young boy she met as a child who now radiates power and danger. She had always felt a pull toward him and now it's a new and frightening dynamic. She knows better than to trust a man like him.

Declan is obsessed with Braelynn, but he can't afford to lose himself in her. Someone is leaking information to the Feds and everyone is suspect, even her. What he is about to do could not only destroy him but also his brothers. Blood is thicker than water. When it comes down to it, who will he choose?

The heat between Braelynn and Declan is so carnal, yet there is an underlying need that is so moving. They belong together, but their tragic pasts have turned into a future that could destroy them both. Braelynn is made stronger from her past and with Declan's BDSM tendencies and his insistence on her communicating her triggers to him, she starts to feel safe with him. But something bad is about to happen.

I couldn't put this hot, steamy book down and the cliffhanger ending is such a tease. I can't wait to pick up book 2 of the series because I want these two to have a happy ever after.

Thank you to Ms. Winters for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
