Well, that was entertaining! A fun mix of characters with just enough brutal honesty to make them feel like folks you might know. Perrotta scratches the surface on several aspects of sexuality and society; exploration and acceptance. He is a new-to-me author and I can’t wait to read more!

This book is the opposite of what I usually read but I really wanted to give it a chance after watching the TV adaptation and you know what I think I rather enjoyed it :) It gave me more of Eve (and Amanda) and that's really all I wanted. Also, I was surprised that Brendan didn't suck as much as in the show, like, I still didn't like him and he still sucked, but I could tolerate him better than when he was on my screen.

Eve is loveable and I believe her tug back and forth, her son is rightly awful but I surprised myself by seeing and minding his heart, however deep. At times read as white feminism but I guess that’s the point; to reach those further from touchy subjects and draw them just a bit closer. Would have loved it to be longer and dip further into everyone’s stories, losing Amanda felt bereaving but I guess it did to Eve too. (My most analytic review yet, strange? Not sure what that says.) Ate it in a day and a half, will probably eat again.

Watch the HBO series instead. Written by a man who doesn’t know how women think.

I flew through this audiobook and it was super entertaining and unique. I’ve not read his books before, but heard good things. The different points of view kept this book moving quickly and the audiobook voices were perfect. Nothing about this book was predictable. It wasn’t life changing so it’s not five stars.

I am now completely scared for my kids to grow up and go away to college. I think this book hit almost every sexual variation. Not sure how I felt about that...were they trying to get a token character in from every option? Disturbing...

Laughed out loud more than any other book I’ve read in quite awhile. Perotta is a master of satire while still giving a rich emotional life to the characters that is relatable and might just bring a tear to your eye.

It was okay. A little too much about porn, but I could relate to her searching for love. The empty nest stuff hit home too and going back to school. I tried to watch the HBO show, but the son starts out as such a dick that I didn't continue watching.
