Fun Alien Romance

Mac and Emily are such a wonderful couple! They see the beauty in each other and past the flaws! This was another fantastic feel-good alien romance! I can't wait for the rest of the series!

I have to say I felt horrible for Emily. She had a terrible family and then she was considered defective and man short end of the stick entirely! Even the alien that ends up taking her home cannot wait to get rid of her first. But the story was sweet and I loved that he tried to give her confidence and get her to see she was not broken just because she had a limp. Good romance.

Emily and Makov ❤️

This book is so cute. I absolutely loved Emily and Makov. The world-building is super dark and horrifying, but the romance in this is super sweet. Makov is a total sweetheart Cinnamon roll under the grumpy exterior. Emily was likable and courageous despite a super crappy backstory. Characters were amazing, plot was great, writing was fantastic, romance was built up with good pacing, world-building was complex without being overwhelming. So excited to read more by this author - I highly recommend this one!

Side note: Seymour Bu’tay of Shagwell Mailorder Brides might be the funniest character name I’ve ever seen. *slow clap*

The love story that almost didn’t happen, but thankfully, our hero Makov, is in the right place at the right time. One look into Emily’s green eyes and he’s a goner, even if it takes him a while to realize how far gone he really is. I loved the playful banter and flirting between Makov and Emily, and it was truly touching, and sometimes exasperating (due to miscommunication), watching them fall in love. The passionate steamy parts didn’t hurt, and were off the charts ;) Adding to the story, there was also a danger element that had me extremely nervous and anxious, and kept me on the edge of my seat. There were plenty of parts of the story that were unpredictable, and I loved that I didn’t automatically know what was going to happen. This is a wonderful start to this series, and I can’t wait to read Torin’s story! (Makov’s brother) You won’t regret taking the time to read this!

I know I've said this before...multiple times... but did everyone else read a different book than I did? Horrible writing, dialogue, pacing, you name it. Ugh.

The dialogue that inspired me to not finish:

...she raised a spoonful to her mouth and blew. He stopped eating.
“What are you doing?”
“Cooling it so I don’t burn my tongue.”
“How would stew burn your tongue?”
“If it’s too hot.”
“Let me see your tongue.”
“No, that’s weird.”
“Would you rather show me your tits?”

Aaaand, I'm out.
