sad... ok mostly happy... but then..... sad

Reread.... twice as sad... you can see all of the nuances to the characters more clearly...

another think i noticed is it combines aspects from all of his other books... read them all successively and you will start to see connections....

This is a re-read for me, so no surprises. This time, I read The Fault in Our Stars as an antidote to reading a badly written novel about a teen with cancer, and like eating chocolate after broccoli, I wanted a good taste in my mouth again. Green's writing did not disappoint. I'm just in awe of the words and ideas he ascribes to his teen protagonists, and of how he imbues them with such humanity that I care about them like family. Five stars, John Green, five stars.

It was an ok read. Nice and quick. I enjoyed Helen and Augustus and their perspective on life, the world around them and their own predicaments. I was never emotionally engaged however and finished up not really interested one way or the other.

I just finished this book and it is so utterly brilliant that words cannot describe how beautiful it is. It just has the perfect balance of humor and tragedy. I practically cried when a certain person passed away. Also I love that the characters don't actually try to be characters, they are just always there and always will be as if to say "yes,we are here where else would we be?!" And the love that they shared is like no other that I have heard of. =loved it
