Meh…glad this series is over, I don’t plan to read any of the spin-offs. This friends to lovers trope is such a hard sell, although I must admit that this may be one the the better ones I’ve read. Also some of the dialogue was cringy.

Meghan Quinn can write no wrong… The BEST book in the Cane Brothers Series YET!! Breaker Cane is by far my most favorite Cane brother… Nerdy, hot, best friend?! Yes, please! Breaker and Lia’s relationship is a true “friends to lovers” romance with ALL THE SPICE!!! If you haven’t read this one, you’re truly missing out! Add to your TBR today!! Heck, add the whole series!!!

I adored Breaker & Lia. I really like how the other brothers & their wives were very much involved in this one. A perfect friend’s to lovers story. I am looking forward to working my way through Quinn’s other books!

I honestly cannot believe how much I loved this book. I don’t usually like the friends to lovers trope, but this story was really cute. Shocking, because I almost DNF’d a few pages in over Wincest (if you know, you know). And even though there were a lot of cringey moments, it’s not a MQ book without them, I found myself laughing out loud a lot and at one point even sobbing from a really sad scene. Romcom books don’t usually make me cry but there were a lot of sad and touching moments.

Ophelia/Lia was a really great FMC. She started out kind of being a pushover but about halfway through she really started building up her confidence and standing up for herself. Breaker was absolutely amazing. Him pining for his best friend for ten years and not realizing until he caught her in a wedding dress? Swoon. No seriously, that whole dressing room scene had me in tears. I loved their relationship, and especially more when they realized their non-platonic feelings for each other.

The spice was insane too. I wish there was more but this was very slow-burn so it didn’t come in until the end, but the mouth on Breaker had me sweating. He and Halsey Holmes (Vancouver Agitators) have the dirtiest mouths even though they seem like the sweetest, gentlest men. Sheesh.

This one is by far my favorite book of the series. I love Breaker and Lia! I’m usually not one for the “friends to lovers” trope but I ate this one UP! They each were perfectly nerdy and sweet and even with the little bumps in the road communication wise, they had the best chemistry. Once again, Meghan Quinn writes something I will be obsessed with forever.

BREAKER CANE SUPREMACY.

I'm very adamant about my dislike of any book that involves a character "stealing" another character from their spouse/partner, but this "My Best Friend's Wedding"-style plot worked! There's no cheating, there were obvious problems between the MC and her fiance at the beginning of the book, and Breaker was the perfect best friend until he had permission to be anything more.

I love a good best friends to lovers and this one won't be leaving my mind anytime soon <3
