"So that morning in 1962 I told myself: Let everyone else call your idea crazy … just keep going. Don't stop. Don't even think about stopping until you get there, and don't give much thought to where 'there' is. Whatever comes, just don't stop."

This is a must-read for sneakerheads, anyone interested in business, anyone in need of motivation, and anyone who enjoys stories about someone remaining steadfast in their vision, despite having a ton of obstacles arising on their journey. This book is a rollercoaster ride. Although I adore it, I really give it a 4 1/2 because it should've been longer. I know this is a considered a "memoir," but it feels more so about the "history" of the company Phil Knight co-founded, Nike. There was so much important information that was merely touched on for a sentence or two in the epilogue that should've had their own chapters, like Michael Jordan for one. The huge impact of Air Jordan elevating Nike to even higher heights should've definitely been included.

I read this book on the recommendation of a weekend acquaintance... I don't generally take random "you should read this" recommendations, but found this book interesting.

As an accountant, I especially enjoyed this dramatic story of the creation of Nike.

I just couldn't put this book down. I was captivated from the first page at everything Knight wrote. I do not have the personality to persevere through tribulations like the founders of Nike, but it sure is encouraging to read. Probably one of my favorite reads of 2020.

The story telling in this book kept me hooked. One of the more engaging memoir's I have read.

These clippings capture the most significant and thought-provoking passages from the books I have read, allowing me to revisit and reflect on them later and you to assess the depth of the author's insights, the clarity of their writing, and the overall value of the book's content:

"Fear of failure, I thought, will never be our downfall as a company. Not that any of us thought we wouldn't fail; in fact we had every expectation that we would. But when we did fail, we had faith that we'd do it fast, learn from it, and be better for it."

"I've spent a fair portion of my life in debt. As a young entrepreneur I became distressingly familiar with that feeling of going to sleep each night, waking up each day, owing many peoole a sum far greater than I could repay.
Nothing, however, has made me feel quite so indebted as the writing of this book."
