Ooooohhh y’all were right about this one! 😏👏🏾

I enjoyed this! I liked the characters and the dynamics of their relationship. There was grief, love, forgiveness, tension, steaminess. Whew! These are some of the best sex scenes I’ve read (more often than not I find them cringey).

I think the basketball aspects were well balanced.

Beautiful Broken Love is the perfect title for this book. It’s worth all the hype! Add Deke to the book boyfriend list!

I feel like I have no words... But I need to come up with some.

I haven't cried reading a book in a long time. Not like this. My soul feels changed. This book feels so raw and real. I've read books that are written to be emotionally devastating, but they feel fake. This book was worth every tear.

You can feel her ache in every moment, but also her determination not to let life completely pass her by. Enter Deke Bishop, the charismatic, big-hearted NBA star who brings warmth and unexpected light into Davina’s carefully guarded world. Their chemistry is undeniable, but what really makes their connection shine is the way they recognize the pain in each other and slowly, respectfully, build something tentative and real.

This isn’t just a steamy sports romance (though there’s a sprinkle of that too); it’s a story about finding permission to hope again. About allowing love in even when your heart still wears scars. It's tender, messy, and authentic in a way that made me root for Davina every step of the way.

Ms. Shanora, you wrote this beautifully!
This was such an emotional read, touching deeply on themes of loss and grief. Davina’s journey through life after losing her husband felt so raw and real, while Deke’s struggle to cope with the loss of his brother and to rise above the bad reputation that followed him was equally moving.

I’ll admit, the back-and-forth with Davina questioning whether she should be with Deke did feel overwhelming at times, but it also added to the authenticity of her emotional struggle.
Overall, this was a powerful and heartfelt story, and I truly enjoyed it!

And I can’t wait for the next book with Octavia and Javier…I know that’s going to be juicy.
