I loved it. I adored the whimsical story. The characters were fun. It was a little hard to get into the first 20% but then I could not put it down. I was squealing and enjoying the pace. Ugh, I was sad to finish it. *Chefs kiss* and I’m so excited and pumped for Book #2

DNF @14%. This was an interesting reimagining of Cinderella’s sister, but I just couldn’t get into it. The audio narrator was a great fit for this story though.

It takes a full quarter of the book before there is any Fairy Godmother happening. After that point the book changes direction nicely into a bit of a Fae adventure story (full of glamorous parties) with very important character growth part for the MC.
This was fun, but my favorite stepsister retelling, which does a lot of what this book goes for just with more oomph, is still Jennifer Donnelly's "Stepsister"
