Not one likeable character except the dead man. It has a Time to Kill vibe, but I couldn't muster any strength to care for Nina. She was just an awful character. Caleb and Patrick both sucked. All 3 should just live together.

The only Jodi Picoult novel I actually disliked. I didn't like how she wrote any of the characters. I flat out hated some of them. I didn't find Nina likable at all.
But still. I was reading it as fast as I could to find out what happened. I couldn't wait to see it when it did. I hated the ending, yes, but Jodi is a storyteller, not a fairy godmother who gives you the ending you want. She wrote a damn good story, so that is what I'm rating it based on.

Nah, it wasn’t that good, other novels by her I’ve read were better. I really disliked the MC.
Fairly predictable but all the way heartbreaking. I am not a fan of head-hopping POV narration, especially not when one of the POVs is in the first person, but it's a great story otherwise, if a bit longwinded.
