Another fantastic, cringy read from KMod! The queen of psychological thrillers never ceases to amaze me. I know I can always count on her books to WOW me! The Mother- In- Law was no exception. The writing style makes it so easy to twist and turn my mind and manipulate me in so many ways. The storyline was so intriguing and kept me interested the entire time. Loren, Jack and Ryn were likable characters and the development of them was so good! No better way to end 2021 than with a great KMod story!
Not one of my favorite books written by Kiersten. I figured out most of the plot twists before hand. This one was a little more predictable than her other books. Nevertheless, it was still a page turner. This one made me so sad though. I didn't even understand the ending. Still my favorite psychological thriller author though. You can't win them all.

I've been in a reading slump for what seems like forever unfortunately and The Arrangement by Kiersten Modglin got me out of a reading slump before I thought I'd try again.
Idk how I feel because there was some creepy scenes and it did keep my attention but I didn't like the story. The twists weren't the best either.

So all throughout this book, I had some pretty crazy theories about what was going on… and needless to say, I was intrigued and just HAD to keep reading. But WHAT EVEN was that ending? I had guessed a portion of the plot twist but not the entire thing, but overall, the story just seemed a little far-fetched for me. But Kiersten Modglin never falls to keep me in suspense, and I will continue to read the rest of her books!

3.5 stars. This book kept me entertained despite some glaring plot holes. My main issue was how was the mother-in-law pretending to be Meredith and checking on the business every other week? Especially since she was getting dementia. Didn’t Loren find that odd to never see Meredith in 4 years. Not once. And could they sell the business if Meredith wasn’t there? They owned it together, right? That made no sense to me.
Also, there would have had to be a way to get the MIL out. It was Loren’s house solely. Once the MIL started to destroy it, that seems like it would have been enough. Or call adult services and report her mentally unstable. Sell it? That was kind of dumb.

I found the pre use to be really interesting and while I did guess one of the plot twist early and one of the ones right before it happened. As usual, Kristen wrote the characters well, though I was a bit sad I didn’t get to hear as much of Jack or the mom until the end.
